Clendenning River, BC, Canada

September 24-26, 2004

At 1:30pm thursday, September 23, I got a call from Shane Robinson telling me that there was a trip to the Clendenning River in British Columbia and there had been a cancellation.  At 2:30pm, I was on the road with Shane, to meet up with Bryan Smith and we all headed for Jonaven Moore's house in Squamish, BC.  That night we up with most of the rest of the crew - Jordie McKenzie and Joey Vosburgh from Calgary.  On Friday, Bryan, Joey and Jonaven's girlfriend Nicola headed out for the 60 mile trip up the Elaho River to leave vehicles for our takeout on Sunday.  Four and a half hours later they returned and we loaded up the trucks, drove to Whistler and began stacking 7 kayaks in the rear of the floatplane.  The flight was incredible as we flew over the Pemberton ice cap and eventually up the Clendenning Valley to Clendenning Lake where we camped for the night.  Saturday and Sunday were filled with whitewater mixed with a lush campsite around the mid-way point.  As you can see, it was a beautiful trip...
